When one will quietly do the job of two-Dual circuit outdoor/indoor solution for Close Control

Why put two condensing units to a dual circuit AHU, when a single dual circuit outdoor unit can do the job better, take up less space and make less noise? With customers asking for such a solution, Airedale has come up with the answer.

By linking the advanced technology of its dual circuit, air cooled Ultima Compact Condensing Unit (UCCU) with the dual circuit AlphaCool Close Control system, Airedale can for the first time, offer an intelligent, DX precision control solution that offers lower external noise levels, increased performance, improved energy efficiency and high ambient operation.

The UCCU offers huge reductions in external noise levels, reducing sound pressure at 10 metres to as little as 42 dBA* compared with 56 dBA for two standard condensing units. To put this into context, a 3db reduction effectively halves noise level received by the human ear. The reductions achieved in both footprint and noise, are even more significant when multiple outdoor units are required.

Two heads are considered to be better than one and in Airedale’s dual circuit/ close control solution, both the AlphaCool and the UCCU benefit from inbuilt, intelligent microprocessors. Whilst the indoor unit controls the overall system, the microprocessor within the UCCU takes care of compressor management.

Add modulating head pressure control and high performance heat exchangers to the optional electronic expansion valve technology of the AlphaCool and the result is a highly efficient and versatile DX solution with a higher end cooling capacity range of 65-90 kW. Multi-configured options can be mixed and matched based on three AlphaCool models (65, 80 and 90) and three UCCU’s (50, 70 and 80). The AlphaCool is available as a downflow or upflow unit and the UCCU in Quiet or Super Quiet versions. Extensions to the range are likely to follow.

The AlphaCool provides a compact footprint in precision control environments where space is at a premium, whilst its partner the UCCU is saving refrigerant installation costs, as well as service area and airflow space outside.
