Ardex industrial flooring system has all the answers

When Giles Foods Ltd, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of frozen and chilled products were refurbishing their modern production and storage facility, they needed to be assured that they would receive two of the vital elements of successful industrial floor installations. Firstly, the specification of the appropriate industrial floor system which will meet the performance, appearance and budget criteria and secondly, that the quality of the chosen materials and appointed flooring contractor will ensure a fast track, high performance installation.

Working in conjunction with specialist flooring contractors, Flo-Dek UK Limited, ARDEX R 90 P Rake and Trowel Grade Heavy Duty Polyurethane Screed was specified for the project, as it has been developed to be ideal for fast track projects in food processing environments, drinks production, dairies and general heavy duty plant and traffic areas. ARDEX R 90 P is available in a range of colours, which is particularly useful when it is essential to differentiate areas.

In today’s industry, continual advancements in Health and Safety standards dictate the need for durable, low maintenance and easily cleanable floors. Therefore, when installing floors within aggressive areas such as food processing, it is paramount to utilise an industrial floor system that has been developed to provide high chemical resistance, with a seamless and joint free finish. As cleanliness is critical in such locations, ARDEX R 90 P has been innovatively designed to ensure that it withstands stringent hygiene routines which are commonplace in food production facilities.

The actual installation process of ARDEX R 90 P is more efficient than a traditional trowel applied heavy duty polyurethane screed, as it has been specially formulated to provide an easily worked system that can be applied using a pin rake and trowel. The cured system forms a tough, easily cleaned, pigmented layer from 4mm up to 9mm thick, resulting in a hard wearing, slip resistant resin flooring system.
