International Conference For Construction Project Management

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) at its headquarters in Ascot, Berkshire UK will be the host of the 5th International Construction Project Management Union Conference (ICPMU) on 30 & 31 October 2006.
This is a two day conference which aims to bring together leading experts to explore the latest developments in construction project management from across the world.

Delegates will:

● Discover the latest international project management ideas and techniques.

● Gain an international perspective on construction project management.

● Build networks with other construction project management professionals.

The Conference dinner will take place at the CIOB and delegates will have the opportunity to attend the prestigious awards evening – Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA) to complete the conference.

ICPMU is an association of related organisations of leading nations in the field of construction. Currently ICPMU comprises of 10 organisations from 8 countries, including associations representing the construction industries of China, India, Singapore, Japan, Australia, England, Korea and IPMA. It was founded in 2002 to promote international exchange and cooperation related to construction project management.

The ICPMU members are:

● The Construction Management Association, Korea (CMAK)
● International Project Management Association (IPMA)
● Chartered Institute of Building (UK and Hong Kong)
● Project Management Association of Japan (PMAJ)
● Construction Project Management Committee (CPMC – China)
● Project Management Research Committee (PMRC – China)
● Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM – Australia)
● Project Management Association (PMA – India)
● Society for Project Managers (SPM – Singapore)

Saleem Akram, CIOB Director, Professional and Technical Development, stated ‘this is a wonderful opportunity for the CIOB to work with ICPMU and their member organisations’. The Conference will bring together leading practitioners and academics from all over the world to exchange knowledge in relation to construction project management.’
