Demands, especially on windows and doors to provide aesthetic solutions, whilst keeping one step ahead of intruders is a constant battle. Legislation and security standards that clients rely on must be constantly revised and updated.

British Standards have updated PAS 24 to incorporate a test, which includes a cylinder attack. This revised test is contained in PAS 24-1: 1999 incorporating Amendments No’s 1, 2 and 3 and Corrigendum No. 1 - "Enhanced security performance requirements for door assemblies - Part 1: Single and double leaf, hinged external door assemblies to dwellings".

The cylinder attack method is covered under clause A.11 "Security hardware and cylinder test".
This revised PAS 24 came into effect on 30th November 2005 and Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems are pleased to announce that their thermally efficient Comar 7P.i door has passed this new, stringent test at BRE.

Comar 7P.i. uses the trade-marked P.i. polyamide insulation to ensure low U-values and has also exceeded the requirements of PAS 23 weather tests.
