Conder Products wins contract to supply sewage treatment plant at hampshire collegiate - former home of Florence Nightingale

Conder Products, a UK market-leader in water and wastewater treatment systems, has been awarded a contract by Dean & Dyball Construction for the supply of a membrane bioreactor treatment plant as part of a major development programme at Hampshire Collegiate School – formerly Embley Park School - near Romsey in Hampshire.

The Conder Clereflo MBR750 treatment plant was selected after consultation with the Environment Agency and the Project Design Team to meet the needs of the School - in terms of security and small footprint - and the discharge standard consented by the Environment Agency of 5mg/1 BOD: 5mg/1 SS: 5mg/1 NH³.

The installation works and landscaping of the area adjacent to the school golf course has been completed by Conder’s own team of engineers and the ongoing service and maintenance of the plant will be undertaken by its associated company, Hydroserve.

Founded in 1946, Embley Park School is situated in the historic former home of Florence Nightingale. The listed building is set in 120 acres of outstanding countryside, woodland, parkland and games fields bordering the New Forest. The School is in the process of merging with The Atherley School in Southampton to form Hampshire Collegiate School - part of the United Church Schools Trust - and an extensive programme of building and development is being undertaken by Dean & Dyball Construction at the Romsey site. The new sewage treatment system designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Conder Products Limited will serve the growing School community into the future.

Kevin Valentine, Project Manager, Dean & Dyball Construction said: “the Embley Park School development scheme will create first class facilities for the new Hampshire Collegiate. Progress is well underway and with the assistance of contractor Conder Products, we are confident that the building programme will be completed to schedule”.
