Security Guarding Returns to IFSEC

IFSEC 2007 – 21-24 May 2007 – NEC, Birmingham

Following its successful launch in May 2006, the Security Guarding Village will return to IFSEC when it takes place from 21-24 May 2007 at the NEC, Birmingham, under the new name ‘Security Guarding & Support Services’.

IFSEC 2006 attracted over 28,000 visitors*, 25% of whom were end-users (a target audience of particular interest to security guarding companies) - a 4% increase on previous years - proving that by branching into this sector, IFSEC’s targeted marketing campaign has succeeded in enticing even more of the right people to the exhibition.

Security Guarding & Support Services at IFSEC will represent the full range of people-based security and training solutions, including front of house, back office, patrolling, electronic, remote monitoring, covert and specialist services.

Planned with the full support of the BSIA, The Security Institute, ASIS International UK Chapter 208, Skills for Security and a number of the UK’s leading security guarding companies, the decision was taken to broaden the feature’s content after further consultation with the industry.

“The addition of ‘support services’ embraces the many other important services that are provided by and for the security guarding industry. Security guarding companies are now being asked by their clients to provide staff with a wider skill set than previously needed. Due to this new integrated approach, the security guarding sector is becoming larger and more diverse than ever before and we will be striving to cater for every element,” comments James Blue, IFSEC’s Event Director.

Exhibitors are keen to be involved, with a number of major companies already signed up to attend including G4S Security Services (UK), The Security Institute, VSG, Wilson James, Nationwide Security Services, Northern Security, Innovise and the AFC Group.

Gary Shuttleworth of Nationwide Security says: “The introduction of security guarding at IFSEC 2006 was welcomed with open arms by ourselves. It enabled us to communicate with end users and decision-makers that ordinarily we wouldn’t meet. Having been involved in the first year of the security guarding feature, from our point of view it would be foolish not to attend future exhibitions.”

Further details on the development of Security Guarding and Support Services will be announced in due course. IFSEC 2007 will take place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 21-24 May 2007.
