NEW PLANLINE - the flush glazing system with SCHOTT PYRANOVA®

Showing for the first time in the UK at 100% Detail, PYRANOVA® Planline is a brand new fire resistant glazing system from SCHOTT, Europe’s leading specialist glass manufacturer. PYRANOVA® Planline is a flush glazing system, which is the result of a joint development between SCHOTT and Rosenheimer Glastec, Germany.

As a fire resistant double glazed unit, PYRANOVA® Planline consists of two external toughened glass sheets with a PYRANOVA® fire resistant insulated glass in between. A patented locking key allows each panel to be seamlessly linked together offering uninterrupted glazed partitions up to 2500 mm high. Each panel is invisibly fixed flush with the timber or steel frame. Successfully tested against the European standard EN 1634-1, PYRANOVA® offers both integrity and insulation to prevent heat radiation and the passage of flames and smoke. Available as standard in double glazed form, the system also offers noise insulation (up to 56 dB), transparency, safety and impact resistance.

PYRANOVA® Planline is suitable for either internal or external use, in doors, transoms and other constructions. Large areas can be glazed without obtrusive mullions, making it an ideal combination of attractive appearance and fire protection.

PYRANOVA® Planline is also available with integrated roller or Venetian blinds, to provide privacy, and can also be screen printed or sandblasted.

PYRANOVA® Planline found exactly the right application in the reconstruction of the Montessori primary school in Aufkirchen (Bavaria). The special requirements for the partition wall between the gymnasium and hall included increased noise insulation, transparency, safety in the event of fire, and sufficient strength to resist falls and the impact of balls. Nor could the frame construction of the glazing be allowed to pose any risk of injury. This necessitated integrity fire safety glazing. The architects decided on PYRANOVA® Planline, since this also fulfilled the increased noise insulation requirements, an additional advantage of this design.
