Garden home comforts at outdoor living centre

With an array of popular garden and gardening shows beamed into our living rooms every day, the British garden is no longer simply a place to grow flowers and mow the lawn. In many cases, it is as much a living area as the house and this is reflected in the wide variety of products available in garden centres around the country. At Outdoor Living, at Bury Lane Farm near Royston, Herts, the owners have gone even further, featuring a log cabin with all home comforts and, most significantly, a Unico System providing low-cost heating and cooling via an energy-efficient heat pump.

Peytons Pavings has more than twenty years’ experience in providing outdoor living solutions and now boasts a garden design service, with The garden design Co, as well as Garden Rooms with showrooms at its Bury Lane Farm site. Offering a complete service from consultation to construction, the Outdoor Living Centre has a range of rooms for the garden in Scandinavian pine.

With its superior buildings, Outdoor Living gives priority to comfort and quality and chose the Unico System for its ability to provide those characteristics. “We knew that the Unico System is the ultimate in home comfort, we wanted that in our garden rooms too,” says David Ford, owner of Garden Rooms. “With the heat pump energy source, Unico provides the ultimate central heating and cooling system with even temperatures and a draught-free environment.”

With a Unico System 1218 unit attached to a heat pump to harness environmental energy and to exhaust heat in cooling mode, the Unico System uses high velocity, mini-duct technology to deliver a controlled environment almost silently. “Although we knew the capabilities of the system, it was still a surprise just how unobtrusive the system is,” continues David.

Unico System International Ltd is a sister company of Unico Inc. in the United States. This is a privately-held company dedicated solely to producing the Unico System, an indoor air handler and flexible mini-duct system that offers more options than any other conventional heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) system. The Unico System is suitable for use in existing buildings as well as for use in new construction.
