Wieland's gesis® NRG flat cable system functions as a central supply station for economical installations

Building services engineers looking for maximum speed and efficiency in installation need look no further than Wieland’s gesis® NRG system for electrical services applications. Quick, safe and efficient, the system can provide 70% time saving and up to 30% cost reduction. The three phase mains and bus can be quickly installed and linked using Insulation Displacement Connection technology, with standard Wieland connectors used to plug onto the cable for efficient device wiring.

Wieland's gesis® NRG flat cable system functions as a central supply station for economical installations. The flat cable in 5 mm x 10 mm2 IP20 rated 250/400V 50A or 5 mm x 16 mm2 IP65 rated 250/400V 63A can be installed quickly and easily.

Insulation can be PVC or Halogen free, its flexibility is its advantage: In contrast to rigid busbars, the flat cable can be conveniently installed in cable ducts and optimally adapts to the architectural design. Once the cable is installed, tap-offs can be positioned exactly in the location where they are required and without line interruption.

Insulation Displacement Connection technology is now proven in many applications - the choice of location for the IDC connector can be left until the moment the device needs to be connected, eliminating the difficulties often associated with site conditions where a planned cable run is too short due to ducting runs and other mechanical inconsistencies.

IDC connectors for three phase mains, single phase mains and bus applications are available for connection to the cable, whilst terminal connectors have been introduced for connecting power and bus to the flat cable. Mains and bus connectors can be slotted together to create a combined unit where required. End-caps for the cable guarantees safety clearances between the individual wires. Distribution boxes with integrated fuses and pluggable outputs match the gesis® CON GST 18 system and optimally complete gesis® NRG.
